8 Weeks Beginning September 22, 2015, Tuesday Evenings
“…and you notice that when you don’t actually use food to shut yourself down, to leave your body, you actually feel more alive. That feeling anything, even grief, is different from what you thought it would be. That when you don’t leave yourself, a different life is lived. One that includes vulnerability and tenderness and fragility and changes the landscape ~ makes it verdant, wider, breathtaking ~ of life as you know it.”
Women Food and God, p. 41
This 8 week group is designed to create a loving and supportive space in which we can begin to explore our beliefs and behaviors surrounding food and the Divine and how they often keep us from feeling fully alive. Through the process of reading, studying, mindful meditation and sharing insights, struggles and longings, we will begin the journey toward experiencing an opening to the Divine ~ which resides within us all.
Requirements for participation include:
- Purchasing the book, Women Food and God by Geneen Roth
- Committing to weekly meetings for 8 weeks ~ total cost $400
- Willingness to explore your relationship with food with curiosity, compassion and gratitude for yourself and other group participants.
Group facilitated by: Nanette McIntyre, M.A., BCC, NCC
With over 20 years experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nanette has presented this workshop several times in other states and is excited to be offering it to the Santa Barbara community.
